Port of Toulon

The port of Toulon in the south of France and provides connections to various Mediterranean ports. In the past the port was home to the largest French naval base in the Mediterranean. The port has ancient origins and was the reason for the development of the surrounding city.

The Old Dock was built under Henry IV and the New Dock was designed by Vauban and built between 1680 and 1700, during which time Richelieu built the Arsenal.
