How to get to the island of Milos

If you like the idea of spending a holiday in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea on an island, surrounded by crystal clear waters then the island of Milos is the one for you! Milos is of volcanic origin and is situated in the Cyclades archipelago, it is breathtakingly beautiful.  There are lots of traditional tavernas to enjoy excellent food and some magical scenery.

Travelling by ferry allows you to really experience the journey and the main ports of departure on mainland Italy are from Venice, Ancona, Bari or Brindisi. If you’d like to travel with your vehicle, you can use Zante Ferries, they transport both vehicles and people, but the crossing takes about seven hours. During the summer, Minoan Lines operate three-hour connections for passengers and vehicles.  

The island of Milos is also connected with most of the Cyclades islands and some of the Dodecanese and the island of Crete. It is possible to fly to the island of Mykonos, where you can then easily reach Milos on Seajet ferries who connect Milos to Mykonos (old port) every day on an afternoon departure that takes less than five hours. The port on Milos is located in Adamantas, the main bay on the island which is a natural harbour.
