Oslo port has passenger terminals for the three ferry operators operating from here, Stena Line, DFDS and Color Line. Every year, almost three million passengers pass through this port, which is very close to the city centre.
How to reach Oslo port
If you are travelling to the Stena Line or DFDS terminal by car, take the E6 towards "Oslo S" / Oslo Sentrum until you see a sign with the ferry symbol and "København" and "Fredrikshavn". Continue in this direction until you reach a large roundabout above the E6. Keep left at the roundabout and continue to follow the signs for the ferries.
If you are travelling from Drammensveien on the E18, head towards "Oslo S" / Oslo Sentrum, then cross the tunnel - "Festningstunnellen". Keep right and take the exit when you see the road sign with the ferry. After the tunnel, keep left and turn left at the intersection towards "Vippetangen".
For the Color Line ferry terminal, coming from the E18 from Drammensveien, follow the E18 towards "Oslo S" / Oslo Sentrum. Follow this road past Sjølyst and the marina on the right. Follow the signs for Hjortneskaien, Kiel / Hirtshals. Coming from the north on the E6, follow the road through the city centre to Festningstunell, then follow the signs for Drammen on the E18. When you arrive in Oslotunnell, follow the signs for Hjortnes / Ferry to the port.
If you don't have a vehicle in tow, you can walk to the ferry terminals from the city centre. There is also bus number 60 which leaves from "Jernbanetorvets Apotek" (the pharmacy at the central station) that travels to the ferry terminals in just 5 minutes, with departures every 20 minutes.
The nearest international airport is Oslo International, located about 50 kilometres away. There are buses, trains and taxis available from the airport to the city centre, from the city centre there are buses and trains to the ferry terminals.
