Riga has an important port, dealing with passengers and the country's imports and exports between Latvia and the rest of Europe. It extends for about 15 kilometres and the passenger terminal was expanded in 2006 when Tallink began operating on the route between Riga and Stockholm. The passenger terminal offers all services, from the waiting room to the cafeteria, toilets, ATM withdrawal.
How to reach Riga port
If you are travelling to Riga port by car, you can take advantage of parking in the port area. There are paid parking lots, such as Parking lot (Europark), costing around € 12.00 for a day. To reach the centre of Riga you can use public transport, about 500 meters from the port is the Kronvalda bulvāris bus stop, from where you can choose trams 5, 7, 6, 9, 11; which all go towards Nacionālā opera- city centre. The international airport of Riga is about twelve kilometres away, and there are connections by bus or train to the city centre, from here you reach the port.
