The ferry route between Igoumenitsa and Kefalonia is temporarily not covered by ferry operators in partnership with NetFerry.
The port of Igoumenitsa is the Greek port which is closest to the Balkans and Italy, so every year it sees about 2.5 million passengers and vehicles pass through. The new port area was launched in 2003 a little further from the urban area and closer to the town of Ladochori. This was chosen as a strategic location to allow ships to arrive from various countries, from those in the eastern and southern Mediterranean and the Balkan countries.
