1. Plan your trip and explore Parikia

Let's start with the crucial question: why Paros? First, it could be the golden beaches and crystal clear waters. But suppose this isn't enough for you. In that case, we will give you a few more reasons: the authentic atmosphere of its beautiful landscapes, the outdoor sports activities available, or the local cuisine. In fact, here you will find all the traditional Greek delicacies and delicious fresh fish dishes.

You're already dreaming of a meal by the sea, right? But first, you have to book your ferry, which we can help you with. To fully enjoy your day trip, we advise leaving early in the morning and returning late afternoon. You can book independently, in advance, online through our ferry portal. It takes approximately 40 minutes from Mykonos port, depending on the chosen ferry company. The journey from Santorini, which is further, will take about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

In any case, your excursion will start from Parikia, Paros's main port and capital. From here, you can stroll along the seafront, venture out to discover its historic town centre - full of shops, bars and restaurants - and visit the remains of an ancient Venetian castle, known as the "Frankish Castle", from which you can enjoy one of the most beautiful views over the city and the bay.

2. The village of Lefkes

To continue your excursion, proceed inland towards the village of Lefkes, one of the most charming spots on the island. With its narrow cobbled streets, whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs and ancient churches, the village of Lefkes offers a beautiful atmosphere; it's one of the hidden treasures of Paros. Visit its churches, squares and local craft shops. Do not miss the church Agia Triada, with its imposing bell towers and frescoes dating back to the 18th century. On the other hand, hiking lovers will find many mountain trails in Lefkes, the most famous of which is the Byzantine trail that connects Lefkes to Prodromos.

3. A dip in the paradisiacal waters of Paros

During your trip, you must find a few hours for a dip at the beach. Of course, we know you are already spoiled for choice. But we'd suggest some of the most beautiful beaches on the island: Kolymbithres Beach, Monastiri (in Paros Park: where you can walk along the beautiful paths on the shore) or Piso Livadi Beach, one of the best for families.

The list is still long, but we highly recommend Golden Beach: one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and an absolute windsurfing paradise. If you make time, be sure to drop by, you will not regret it!

4. The Valley of the Butterflies and the Cave of Antiparos

Impossible to choose: the Valley of the Butterflies or the Cave of Antiparos? We are sure of one thing: both are worth a visit.

The first is one of the most enchanting natural spectacles on Paros. Named after the thousands of butterflies that can be found there during the summer - it is open to the public all year round - and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The second one is located on Antiparos, a small island in front of Paros, easily accessible by sea. This unique cave is known for its stalactite and stalagmite formations: it extends about 100 meters underground, formed by the flow of rainwater, which, through the centuries, created a complex cave system. While you're at it, before returning to Paros, we recommend taking a tour of the island's main village.

Finally, the island of Paros is famous for its traditional festivals, which celebrate religious and cultural events.

Among these is the feast of the Virgin Mary, held on August 15, which attracts thousands of visitors from all over Greece every year. The festival is dedicated to the church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani, one of the oldest and most significant monuments on Paros. What better occasion to learn more about the islands' culture and traditions?
